Vamonos… Andiamo… The Treble? in Berlin!!

2254277_w2

We didn’t get “El Clasico” final in the UEFA Champions League, but we got two Classic teams in the final; Juventus – Barcelona. La Vecchia Signora, Juventus FC is back in a Champions League (CL) final after 12 years, hoping to win their third CL title, for many a difficult task taking into consideration that they are about to face probably the best team at this moment, FC Barcelona.

Barcelona,a team that went from creating doubts at the beginning of  the season to now create magic, consider by almost everyone the favorites to lift their fifth Champions League title. What is not in doubt, is that they have the most lethal trident at this moments, Messi, Suarez, and Neymar, the “MSN”. The team is in an incredible form  despite the fact that is the end of the season and when most teams are feeling the toughness of all competitions. Barcelona already won two important titles, La Liga and La Copa Del Rey, a boost of confident and definitely an additional motivation to  win the CL and the desire and difficult “Treble”. – (Treble is used in association football to refer to a team winning three trophies in a single season.- via Wikipedia)

2254371_w2

What were the odd that both finalist would be in position to win the Treble?… Juventus also won their local league; Seria A, as well as Coppa Italia which means that they also have the additional motivation to chase the Treble.

Although we can mark some specific differences between both teams, for many, Italian Football (Calcio) has lost a bit of competitiveness which means Juventus reaching the CL final is a slightly bigger accomplishment, despite dominating their league for the past few years they haven’t been able to reach this same stage in previous years, and many Italian teams have struggle in CL waters. Although we can not measure them by those results because we would have to ask what happened with the English Premiere League?, for many maybe the best European league and the most entertaining, but again non Premiere League team reached the semifinals, so everything is up for debate.

2254367_w2

What is not for debate is Barcelona’s great form, not only physically but mentally, La Liga was a tough fight during some months and at the end Real Madrid couldn’t keep the pace in the competition, but despite the tiredness that almost all teams face toward the end of the season, they seem to be in better form than the rest, and it doesn’t hurt to have the best version of Messi, the one that can create magic in the field wowing everyone that watch him make the impossible, possible.

2254328_w2

Yes two tales but one goal, wining La Orejona, it’s all set up for June 6th, when the best attack will face the classic and most expert defense. The italian defense style is known as a padlock. The question is, if Barcelona will be able to open that padlock, on the other hand it is a 90 minutes match and in football sometimes everything and anything can happen, which  makes it more exciting!!

Let’s hope for an entertaining and fun final, with a  bit of emotion and drama why not!

Who do you think will win the Champions League, Barcelona or Juventus,?… Let me know in the comments or on twitter @MonikJHerrera.

Most probably I’ll be kind of live tweeting on Saturday, twitter is fun during games, if you are on it feel free to say hi!

On another note; It is incredible and a bit nostalgic that this match is going to be the last one in a European League for this two Football Legends, Xavi Hernandez and Andrea Pirlo. A win for New York though, apparently Pirlo has already signed with the NYCFC and Xavi is heading to Qatar after the final.

Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoy the match and may your favorite team win!

El clasico final in Berlin?… to be or not to be?…

2209313_w2

How are the chances of having “El Clasico” in the biggest scenario of football clubs, the UEFA Champions league?

We are about to find out, this week we will know which teams will meet in Berlin for the final. The last time I posted about El Clasico, it was the one Barcelona and Real Madrid played in La Liga, it finished with a victory from Barcelona. Although a mix feelings from Real Madrid’s fans, for some the team played with heart, for others a lost is a lost.

The Champions League sometimes can be predictable and sometimes it can surprise us, at this stage the four teams playing the semifinals are European football powerhouses, all have won the title before, some are more favorites than others but any of the four could reach the final.

Real-Madrid-vs-Barcelona

For the past few CL seasons the idea of a Real Madrid- Barcelona final had been in the air, both teams reached semifinals in the last few season teasing all fans with a possible El Clasico final, but it did not happen, either both were eliminated, or only one of them advanced to the final like what happened with Real Madrid last season.

As soon as both were placed in different sides and facing different rivals this season some fans and the media started to dream with a final between these two arch rivals, let’s be honest that has a possibility of being one of those great and historic finals, but one thing is to dream about it and another one is the reality of both clubs.

2015-05-06t212850z_73949330_mt1aci13727493_rtrmadp_3_football

So far Barcelona has half of the ticket to Berlin and most probably is about to get the other half in the next two hours, if Bayern can not pull out a comeback. RealMadrid has a complicated second leg on Wednesday after their 1-2 result in Italy vs Juventus. It’s interesting how many people thought that Real Madrid probably had better chances because Juventus were considered among the four semifinalist the one with fewer options, but at the end football can change from one game to another.

barcelona

Just look at how things have shifted for both Barcelona and Real Madrid, the first one started the season with many doubts and in the middle of a weird relationship between Luis Enrique and Messi, but apparently all that is water under the bridge now, and they are having an incredible end of the season, the players form and their game have set them a part from the rest, they are probably the favorite, the MSN (Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar) are having the best end of the season. That is what could be called, good timing.

Barcelona- Bayern Munich in the papers was probably the match that everyone expected to be very  close and difficult, and it was for most part of the game during the first leg, but in three minutes Messi changed it all, now Bayern needs maybe not a miracle but close to that.

1408951526_extras_noticia_foton_7_1

On the contrary Real Madrid went from the best team at the beginning of the season to be in the edge of a non title season. Iker Casillas is getting some heat from some fans, as well as the BBC (Bale, Benzema and Cristiano) not much love for them, specially for Bale and a little bit for Ronaldo, and since Benzema is injured, he is kind of on the safe. At this point, it all depends of what happens this Wednesday, it seems that they have said goodbye to La Liga after Saturday’s result, and now their only option is the Champions League, but Juventus is a tough rival, specially now that they have the result on their favor, they can defend pretty well that’s the Italian style.

Real Madrid seems to be under trouble waters, facing critics after the latest results, their timing couldn’t be worst, important players injured and others criticized by their fans.

11219063_10150842207634953_9017488313621125306_n

Ancelotti needs to come up with a lineup that would cover the injury problems and the players need to have a good game, one of those magical Champions League nights at the Bernabeu, otherwise the dream of the eleventh (Undecima) will banish pretty fast and tougher times will come. Real Madrid is a club where fans expect victory all the time, that is the way it is. They either make it happen in the Champions League or they are heading to a very long and uncomfortable summer.

What is for sure is that we will be watching, many are praying to the Football gods to have that dream “El Clasico” final but for now let’s enjoy the excitement, nerves and nail biting that are Champions League Semifinals!!

Football Sunday!! #ElClasico … y nada mas!!

 image (1)

In a few hours the match of matches will kick-off, “El Clasico” is for many the biggest football soccer match around the world – taking out World Cup matches – and is consider the biggest for many reason, the rivalry that goes way back in history including some political issues, the money each team invest in their players, the titles both have won and aspire to win, among other things, but that is not what this match is all about today, is about two of the biggest clubs in Spain with fan all over the world. Even in the most remote places football fans know about “El Clasico” and people wait for this match with excitement.

This year is a tale of one league with two different halves, is interesting to see how things change in a couple of months. The first half of La Liga, Real Madrid was almost unstoppable, they closed 2014 with incredible numbers and on a wining streak, Ronaldo was probably at his best form he was scoring many goals, everything was kind of perfect for them, but the second half of the season is not going according to their script, they are probably in the middle of a crisis stage, a few loses that were not only unexpected but somehow humiliating, including that shocking  second leg match in Champions League vs Schalke 04, were they were close to be eliminated.

image

On the contrary Barcelona went from being a club in crisis during the first half of this season to be a club with a chance to win it all. If we take into consideration the whole Messi vs Luis Enrique drama; do they love each other or not?, that was the question and probably still is sometimes, things didn’t look so favorable for Barça. The turned around came, after  Messi missed a training session that generated many comments but was the key point in the team relationship, a conversation and a commitment to work for the team from all parts, and Messi has responded in the pitch, he is having an incredible second half scoring goals but also influencing Barcelona’s game, he has not only surpass Cristiano Ronaldo in the goal scoring race -30 for CR7 and 32 for Messi- but also he has assist many times his teammates, changing the face of Barcelona. One of the best news for their fans is that in some of the latest matches they have been able to see a glance of that style of game that was so characteristic of their team and was so loved and admired by others.

All build up aside history has told us that no matter how Barcelona or Real Madrid conditions are previous to a Clasico, this matches are a different story, we have seen how sometimes the one that get to this match stronger had ended up looking not so good to put it in a way. The only thing that we know for sure is that this match is not a normal regular La Liga match, is “El Clasico” and just by that, everything or anything can happen. What we all want is a fun and entertaining match, yes history also has taught us that sometimes the expectation is higher than what we see on the pitch, but we can only hope that today is going to be a Clasico to remember.

CAuJZ5gWsAAPgLv

This might be the match that defines the title race and it could be, there is just one point of difference between both teams and 10 matches to go, but we have also learned that football sometimes gives you many surprises. Do I think one of them will win La Liga, yes I do, I find it hard for the ones coming behind to catch them at the top, but I have seen many end of the season throughout the years so whoever or whichever wins today probably will gain confident to face the end of the season, but we’ll see…

Let’s enjoy and hope that it would be a fun match to watch! Let me know who do you think will win this Clasico, Real Madrid or Barcelona? you can leave a comment here or on my twitter @MonikJHerrera. Probably I will be tweeting during the game, one of my favorite things to do. Ha!

Raul

I’m not sharing here stats because you probably have seen them all this week, but I can share two of the moments people remember the most, one was Raul silencing the Camp Nou after scoring goal that tied the match 2-2, that was one of those draw that felt like a victory. The other one is Barcelona wining 5-0, that was painful for all Madridistas but this are two of the many iconic moments El Clasico always leave us.

Thank for reading and let’s see which trident will make the difference, the BBC: Bale, Benzema and Cristiano. Or the MSN: Messi, Suarez and Neymar?

El Clasico… Bring it on!

This is a classic match between Barcelona and Real Madrid, two old rivals, this is the game of the games, every time this two play against each other the whole world watch! It’s always amazing and unbelievable how indeed the whole world stop to watch El Clasico…

Now it’s all set, ready and go for the UCL!!

Hello!!

1987581_w2

I’ve been kind of melting in this last summer heat weather… I know I will regret saying this later but I really need some fall and more chill weather, I’ll complaint  about it later when I am freezing lol

Anyways a lot to talk but as of now, let’s talk about the UEFA Champions League, because hello now we know the groups and it’s all set to go on September 17th and 18th… Those are the days, so mark them in your calendars, first game for everyone! The group stage look like a  lot of fun or not depending on what group your team is…

It all started with all the name of the teams in the little balls, which were taken from a bowl and we all were waiting to see who will face who in this first stage…

1987583_w2 1987582_w2 1987704_w2

And after all that ball picking and wondering we finally have the group stage ready! and it looks like this:

1987420_w2

There was a lot of debate about which group will be the hardest one, I am still thinking about it, a lot of people say that Arsenal in group F is the difficult one, but I am not sure…

I think Real Madrid group B is not as easy as some might think, base on previous seasons, last year eliminating Galatasary was not easy and it gave them a lot of trouble, and they have Juventus in the same group an Italian club that they haven’t been able to win comfortable in a while, so in my opinion it’s a difficult group.

I also think that Barcelonas’ group H it’s a difficult one Milan is a competitive club and has a champions league history, Ajax might not be at the same level as it was some years ago but still can complicate them too, and you have Celtic, in my opinion when almost all teams in your group might not be as good as you are but they have complicated you or can complicate you it means that anything can happen, so for that reason this two groups are difficult.

It’s not like Chelsea for example in group E in theory the teams in their group are not at the same level as they are or you don’t think they can not complicated them that much, you will expect Chelsea to move forward without much problem, that’s a kind of easy group to say something….

I think the normal group is when you have two teams that you know or expect them to advance to the next stage, that is not easy but a kind of normal competitiveness to have in first stage of a competition, when you have three teams or all in your group with possibilities in theory to advance then you might have a problem or what we call a hard or difficult group! In World Cup lingo that’s the “group of death”….

1987707_w2

What is for sure is that until the ball starts rolling we won’t know… and until it will stop rolling we won’t know either and everything and anything can happen, that’s why this is so excited!! La Orejona or the trophy with the big ears is waiting for the same or a new champion!!

I can wait! 🙂

1987575_w2

In the same event Franck Ribéry was awared with the 2012/13 UEFA Best Player in Europe, a big honor and big accomplishment for the French player currently in Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga, so Congrats to him!!

So for now I leave you with the UEFA Champions League official theme song!! (Just to get us into the mood, not that we need it but is excited to listen to it!)

Thanks for reading, feel free to share what team you are supporting and how you feel about their group!

It’s showtime!! Bring it on…

Hola!

iphone 101

How is everything going?  I just came back from a boat party, very popular around here in New York during summer, I finally can  say I beat my boat dizziness, now I can own one lol… The view of the city in those boats is just breath taking! And guess what was my view this evening too?… Yes a Football pitch, I am so ready for the European football season!! Bring it on!

Today is showtime for some of the big names and  big clubs, well two of the best leagues around the globe kick off their season today!  And I can only say  it was about time and Thank You!! It means lots of Football!!

iphone 165

With the exception of  the German Bundesliga and the French League that already started,  La Liga (Spain) and as you probably now by now because of NBC promos, the  English Premier League (EPL) start today, some games on Saturday and the rest on Sunday!  Il Calcio will kick off their season next Saturday the 24th if I am correct, it’s late so I’ll double check tomorrow ;).

No more friendlies at least between the clubs, now this is serious business and the run for the championships it’s about to begin!

Although that friendly final game between Real Madrid and Chelsea in Miami two weeks ago was not as friendly as everyone thought… The whites gave some kind of message to the world, they looked united and not that happy to see their ex coach José Mourinho, they made it clear, they said they didn’t but we all saw the game and unless they saw imaginary fans in Chelsea bench, those goals had a card with Mou name on it. Marcelo and then Cristiano Ronaldo celebrations were directed to Mou, as everyone agreed, they can denied it but we are not crazy lol…

 1094765_10150439879674953_442441865_n

cristiano-ronaldo-real-madrid-chelsea

Real Madrid ended up wining the final and therefore the Championship, an irrelevant competition but it was a nice way to see what their capacity might be and also that final was totally worth it!

556760_10150439879504953_658550602_n 1004920_10150439879639953_370194251_n

NBC is in full promoting mode, well you know is not the most popular game and probably it won’t be, but they are putting a lot of resources in my opinion to give enough coverage for the growing Football audience,  it’s good, now that they have the NBC Sport on cable they can cover more and I guess as fans we will be happy, in this case the more the better!!

If you haven’t seen this video, you should, it’s funny!

Although they had to replace Gareth Bale billboard that was in Times Square, of course he is or was, we still don’t know… but since he hasn’t sign anything I guess he is still one of the symbols of the EPL, but everyone expect him to sign with Real Madrid sooner than later, I guess was better to replace him hehe… I understand let me tell you this transfer drama- Mexican novela, it’s getting old now, c’mon signed him already, the poor guy it’s doing everything in his side to get transfer, not training (due to a kind of mysterious injury…), expressing his wishes to be transfer, I mean is like everyone will say come on let the guy goooo!!  But  well €100 million are in the middle of this novela :0.

175279104abc

But since that story is not over yet, let’s move on, the Leagues start today, but the market is still open, news of clubs wanting players are coming up and down, so until the  market closes this is how it will be, but if we have games, I won’t mind…  I feel bad for some players is kind of weird to start a season and somehow suddenly feel uncertain of your future. But I think they are use to that by now.

The German Bundesliga started early last week, we finally saw the official so commented debut of Pep Guardiola with Bayern Munich, and well it was the first game he didn’t dazzles us  but it’s still too early to evaluate, his team defeats ‘Gladbach though, so if you are a Bayern Munich fan don’t freak out yet, just wait and let’s see if he will work some magic there as he did with Barcelona!

gm1e98a0bkc011348323918

This is so excited, new season, new faces, also familiar ones, everyone start with zero points, this is like back to school with new clothes, new books, new and old friends, but funnier and cooler than that!!

And some are pretty handsome faces like Isco! ( Eye candy alert!!)

Thanks for reading as always, I didn’t post anything about the International friendlies among some Countries, because some were not that good, a bit boring and because it just a fun way to practice, nothing major happened…

That’s it, I am ready, I probably will miss today’s games, I will watch highlights and read the newspapers lol, but you know once in a while I need to take care of  my other life,  the one that has to interact with other human beings! So I might check out this kind of food fair in Brooklyn, which won’t help “my getting back to shape” mode, but it could be a delicious fun, and the other option is to check the san castle competition in Coney Island, I’m not really convince yet, it’s a weekend which mean that it will be packed with people, then if I go and it’s just like something I could have build myself, and I have zero skills for that, then I will be disappointed…. anyways this so out of topic, but I let you know my final decision hehe!!

But for sure I’ll watch Real Madrid debut in La Liiga!!

998931_10150442658339953_390441510_n

Take care and enjoy our back to Football time!!  Any comment or suggestion, please be my guess, I would love to read them!

Paolo Maldini and ‎Shevchenko‬ two Legends of this Sport!!

And now I officially can say I am old!!…  I watched them, when both were active players, everytime that I see a former player now as a coach or retire I said to myself “wow you’ve been watching Football for too long now”  or maybe not enough, but it’s always nice to see a former player, it brings back old but nice memories!! I grew up watching them play, so always a nice feeling… taking aside the getting old part lol

Summer nights, transfers, dramas and Pre-season fun!

What’s up? Hello hello!!

image (14)

Ahh what a nice summer night… I feel like summer is about to be over and I still haven’t gone to the beach… breaking my record, and that’s not a good one!

Anyhow, at least I am checking up what is happening! Things are moving fast this days!

Let’s talk about Football!!!

Well since things in our side of the globe are actually slowing down, national teams will be back until September for more World Cup Qualifications, let’s catch up with the clubs in the other side of the world, which ironically most of them are jumping to this side of the pond!!

1097988_10150437191549953_2051386537_n

Real Madrid started their pre-season or Summer Tour a couple of weeks ago, they played Bournemout, then they had a real test with O. Lyon and ohh boy, that was not pretty forget their previous result 6-0, this time it was a more competitive team, O.Lyon was already ahead of the whites in their pre-season preparation, so it was a tough game for Real Madrid, they were never comfortable, Ancelotti tried to stablished his strategies, but it seems that the team hasn’t been able to read them or understand them just yet!

They were able to tied the game in the second half after being down 2-0, the final result was 2-2, and a lot of notes for Ancelotti and his coaching team if they want to be as ready as possible.

1011544_10150435341959953_2144449237_n

The next game was vs Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), I missed that game so I can’t say much about it, I know it was Ancelotti’s old team so it was interesting for sure, the result was a 1-0 a win for Real Madrid, base on what the media reported it was somehow a more leveled match, the Whites showed some talent, made some great passes and showed some  ball movement, but PSG also gave them good things to work on… but since I didn’t watch it, I can’t give you my thoughts so let’s move on…

16534_10150435560419953_135969045_n

That was the last game they played in Europe before starting their American Tour, the International players, the ones that got extra vacations due to their participation in the Confederation Cup joined the team. Los Blancos started their traditional pre-season tour in the U.S for the four consecutive year, they chose UCLA training facilities as their house for the next couple of weeks, now Ancelotti has all his players together to start their full training…

Well he is waiting for one more… and we are all waiting to know how much money he will cost…. Some transfers are real dramas, the Gareth Bale case it’s a clear example… dramaaaa….  it has gotten to a kind of ridiculous point, according to reports, Tottenham president didn’t want to let him go, even with the player decision and desire to leave the club, so he increased his  price. Latest news were that Real Madrid was willing to pay €85 millions (:0:0:0)  like seriously that is a lot of euros!! A lot of money, but Tottenham president later said that if Real Madrid want him, they will  have to pay €140 million of Euros…. that is absolutely beyond words, they are in negotiations but the numbers are just crazy, 80, 85 or 100 millions that would be the most expensive player since like ever… I mean like holy mother!!!

 Gareth Bale Tottenham Hotspur

I know he is good, he can play several positions and marketing wise he is consider one of the best and most famous players in the world, he was named last season the best player of the English Premier League (EPL), so his sponsors increased as well, he has not reach Cristiano Ronaldo, Messi o Neymar marketing levels, but he is getting there, so the Club will have that to build up and recover for that incredible holy cheese investment they will do, because even with the presidents of each club still in negotiations, he will end up signing for the White House!  I just think that for that incredible amount of money he has to become a true legend in this game lol…. just saying, to justified that craziness!! Any how that drama is still going on…. we were missing that summer transfer soap opera, as always, they never fail to entertain…

gareth-bale-nbc

Real’s first game in American soil was vs LA Galaxi, and the final result was a 3-1 victory, Isco is making some difference in his firsts games with Real Madrid, all players need to do their best, getting a starting spot is going to be a competitive thing among them. I think that will be good for the team, they have to reach a good level, not there yet even with this wins there is still a lot of work for Ancelotti, Zidane and Co.!

Higuain-Napoli

As it was already a done deal, Pipita is now in Naples with his new team Napoli, that was a very good deal for the Real Madrid, and  I think base on the welcoming el Pipa got when he arrived there, he would be fine, that was an airport full of fans and the stadium showed him a lot of love in his presentation!

I have to bring Sexy David Beckham to the conversation hahaha…. I mean he is a symbol in this game, he might not be the best player in the world, he was great in his position and he definitely gave to this sport a new definition there was a before him and after in Football history, at least in my humble opinion, so for that he deserves a mentioned today! He went to visit his former teammates at UCLA and took pictures with old friends and with new ones. He is retired but is always good to see him!

OK one more gossip mention :/… I know I am in so papo mode… Congrats to the future father to be, Iker and his journalist reporter Sara Carbonero, are expecting their first baby, for sure it will be cute… so that’s it papo (paparazzi) mode off. I am not even going to comment on Messi’s famous scandalous pictures… I’m being a good girl haha

What is going on in Camp Barça?

2013-08-02_ENTRENO_10-Optimized_v1375437575

Well they have been a bit quiet lately, they played their pre-season games vs Bayern Munich,  it was a bit to forget, not their best performance, they look a bit lost, without any direction or style, but it was just a friendly and their new coach was not with them at that time. But now Tata Martino has taken full control of the Team!

2013-08-02_ENTRENO_06-Optimized_v1375437571

Their second game was Neymar debut with Barcelona, and let’s put it like this, he got the chance to wear the jersey, that was pretty much the only news we got after the game, it might be early, he even said it he needs time to adapt to the team and get use to play with his new teammates, so let’s see him in next games. Tata Martino has started to work with the team so we might see a different result… Yesterday Neymar and Messi played together for the first time in the team presentation, and I guess they wanted to make it count, 8-0 vs Santos (Brazil)…

Everything looks so promising!

What is not that promising on another note is how the crisis is affecting some clubs, specially in Spain, I talked about how good their league is, but with the recession and their economic crisis, some clubs are struggling and some are not even able to pay to their staff or players, it’s difficult, some clubs won’t have the money to reinforce their teams, and some other are selling their best players most of them to other leagues like the Premiere, Italy or France, in other to have some incomes from those sales and be able to respond to their employees, something that will definitely impact the league but at the end the saddest part is the people who is affected by this, you know what made this possible is the humans that work hard in all levels of a club…

But I think we have to keep our hopes high, things have to get better sooner or later, at least we can hope, meanwhile we still can enjoy this beautiful game and some of its best performers!!

 Interesting notes!!

I guess blonde is the new trend!!… Do they really have more fun?? I  might consider going blonde lol…  Ramos showed up with his new hair style. What do you think, can he pull it off?

Cristiano Ronaldo was invited to throw the first pitch at a Los Angeles Dodgers game… I think he will stick to Football.

Thanks for reading!! I hope you are having  nice summer nights!!… And feel free to share your thoughts, what will you do with €85 million that’s like $100 something million of dollars… ahh what I would not do with that… lol!!

Arrivederci Pipita… and some other updates!

Hola!

So long, farewell
Auf Wiedersehen, goodnight
I hate to go and leave this pretty sight…

1374683242_extras_noticia_foton_7_1

Some updates, things are moving fast in this transfer window!

As I mentioned you early, Gonzalo Higuain “El Pipita” was heading to Naples, his transfer was almost a done thing with Napoli, and early this morning was reported that he did not travel with the team to play their second pre-season game against Lyon in France, which means that more than almost a done deal, is moving to a sealed deal :(…

I have followed him since he got to the team six years ago and I have seem his improvement, growing to the next level, but also being patience, waiting for his chance, he was a favorite among Real’s fans most of the time, but what we can not discuss is that he was very effective, always scoring goals for Real Madrid, he showed commitment and dedication with the Club, but we all know that he had some areas to improve but well when he was not in the starting lineup, his minutes got shorter and every summer there was the same story if the club will put him up for sale, he felt it was time to look for new air, and a new beginning!

1003821_10150433827914953_33448453_n

I wish him all the best in his new journey,  Maraca.com the Spanish sport newspaper is reporting that Pipita is already in Italy to go thru the medical recognition with his new team and he will sign for four seasons and the Italian Club will pay around 37 millions Euros for him, a very good deal for Real Madrid who bought him for 12 millions…  He gets a six million per year which is an improvement from his previous salary too.

This is the Sport world, it will feel weird not seeing him wearing Real Madrid jersey but, well he’ll be competing for the Scudetto in Italy and he will also has the chance to play the champions league group stage with Napoli.

There are some things to get done, and he has to sign, but all seems that it’s just a matter of hours…

I’ll keep you post!

On another note;

1002863_10150433922824953_980256002_n

Real Madrid is playing today their second friendly game vs O. Lyon in France, as part of their pre-season, this could be a better chance to see how the team is adapting to the new coaching, since O.Lyon is a more competitive team that Bournemouth!

1374616975_extras_portada_0

Also Barcelona is playing at this moment their first friendly pre-season game, a very special one, because  it’s against Bayern Munich,  Pep Guardiola’s new team, he is Barcelona’s former Manager, the one that lead them to one if not the most successful period of time for the Club, this game should be a very entertaining and interesting to watch due to the latest drama between Pep and his former Team…

A  lot of Football today… oook a lot of soccer today 🙂

Todays sountrack….  So Long, Farewell Pipita!! Good luck!

Thank for reading as always!! If you want you can follow on Twitter for more instant info hehehe….

Midweek tales!

Hola!!

Weekend

Yes It’s me again, I am really into peace and love hahaha….

It’s Wednesday! The belly button of the week, it feels like the weekend is kind of close or at least that’s what I like to think…  belly button make me think about belly dance… bailamos!!!

A quick midweek dance over some Football Soccer tales!

♠ On my last post Real Madrid was about to play their first pre-season game against Bournemouth, it was the first chance to see Ancelotti’s team in action, and they didn’t disappoint with a 6-0 victory, it’s still early to tell how they will do during the regular season but base on the result and what the team did on the Pitch, it looks promising, at least for now.

1374643568_extras_noticia_foton_7_1

In the transfer scenarios, the Bale case is still going on, so this is a to be continued…  and sadly or happily depending on your preference, Marca is reporting that in a couple of hours “El Pipita” Higuain will be heading to Naples, Italy, to sign for Napoli, if everything goes well his transfer will be done, in that case he scored his good-bye goal in the 6-0 win this past Sunday, Good bye Pipa… I’ll miss you!

1374575262_extras_noticia_foton_7_1

♠ Moving on… When I heard that Tito Vilanova stepped down as Barcelona Manager, it was such a sad news, one thing is, if a coach leaves a team because he signs for another club, or when the head coach is remove meaning fired because of results or whatever, but his reason is just heartbreaking… He’s been fighting cancer for a while, and just when we all thought that he was well, the Club announced that he has to go back to treatment, it was sad, he stepped down as Barcelona’s head coach or Manager, to fight his most important game, defeating throat cancer, I am sending him prayers, good vibes and positivism…. life is soo fragile…

The team was at the press room in a sign of support for who has been involved with the Club for many years including the Guardiola period and who has been their coach during the last seasons, but the Club said it, life goes on, and they have to get ready for next season, so after the news, the question was who was going to take the challenging mission of coaching one of the greatest Football Club in the world?…

Well after many speculations, and names flying up and down, coming in and out from many directions, the waiting wasn’t that long as the awaiting of the Royal Baby hehehe. The chosen one was the Argentinian Gerardo Martino known as “Tata” Martino, who will be given a two-year contract said the Club. It was some kind of surprise for many since his name wasn’t at the top of the list of the possible candidates, but he was well-known by Leo Messi and Leo’s  father, who might have put his name in the orbit and made some recommendations to Barcelona directives.

Roda_de_Premsa_de_Tata_Martino_v1374604727

After  almost 30 years an Argentinian will be once again the head coach of Barcelona, he held his first press conference, in which he said that Barcelona already has a defined style and that they as a coach team are the ones that have to adapt to that style and work  day by day to feel comfortable and be up to the expectations.

 1374599361_extras_noticia_foton_7_0

♠ Both clubs have made major chances in their coach seat, we will have to see how this new season will unfold, seems we will have a very entertaining season, and if you add that next year is the World Cup, well you have an additional motivation for players to do their best to get that dreaming spot to wear and defend their national team jerseys!

1000729_10150433291094953_1799595518_n

Let’s bring the tales to our side of the pond….!!!

♠ I am full recovered from my national team El Salvador losing the quarterfinals game against a very good USA team in the Gold Cup, they played in Baltimore, in front of a very large group of Salvadoran fans, in fact I think it felt like the US team was a visitor in their own soil, but that didn’t help that 5-0 was painful to watch :(. It amazed me how we are not that good as other teams, but as you can see we support out national team unconditional, we feel part of the team and the nation even when we have never won any major tournament or event in a while or ever… but the fans are always there, no matter what, even if we probably know that we might lose they still will support and have the faith that there might be a chance, a miracle or a surprise, I just love that!!

072113-SOCCER-gold-cup-quarterfinal-OB-G3_20130721181550661_600_400

No miracles or surprises this time, the USA team is playing very good, Landon Donovan in making all amendments to be back in the world cup qualifying roster, meaning the “A”  team after his brief vacations from soccer,  leading a very good team that has been able to keep up a wining streak even playing with their “B” team, they look strong and a serious contender to win this tournament…. Mexico is another story, they are trying to come out of a very bad period, draw games, not many victories but still they just got into semifinals so you can not take them out of the equation, we’ll see.

072013-SOCCER-gold-cup-mexico-trinidad-tobago-LN-G6_20130720204756305_600_400

The Gold Cup will have semifinals today, USA vs Honduras and Mexico vs Panama. Might the forces be with the best ones, or with the ones that score the goals!

GoldCupSoccer2013_930x278

CONCACAF which means Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football, is not as competitive as other confederations such as Europe or South America CONMEBOL, but still is our region and they are trying to make improvements to make it more entertaining and more competitive, I think is a good thing, I hope they can keep growing with time and I hope they will try to keep improving,  there is still a lot, I mean a looot of room of improvement lol…

Let’s see how this will end up, if I have to pick, base on what I’ve seen I will say, USA and Panama will move on to the Final… predictions, predictions, predictions….

Thanks for reading, enjoy the rest of the week if you want to comment don’t be shy feel free and let me know what you think!!
